Health Related Questions are not a part of the Frequently Asked Question Section, as we would prefer that you contact our office to discuss any medical concern.

1. I am 16. Will you contact my parents if I come to your clinic?
No – our services are confidential.

2. My friend told me your services were free. Is that true?
No – all services are provided on a sliding fee scale. Many people do however fall into a “no pay” category.

3. I am not planning on having sex, but I would like some condoms – just in case. Can I get these at your clinic without giving my name?
Yes – Condoms are available at no fee to everyone.

4. I am 19 and I need the morning after pill. Can I purchase it at your site without seeing a physician?
Yes – Plan B, Emergency Contraception that is often called the Morning After Pill is available over the counter to individuals 18 and over. If you are under the age of 18 it is still a possibility, but you will need to see a clinician. Plan B is most effective the sooner it is taken. Most pharmacies also stock Plan B.

5. My Mom is a friend of a lady that works in your office. Will she tell my Mom I was there?
No – All Family Health Services employees know the importance of confidentiality. The employee would be fired for this breach in confidentiality.

6. My daughter is 14. She is not sexually active, but she has extremely heavy periods. Her physician has recommended that she take birth control pills to control the flow; However, I do not have a prescription benefit with my insurance and the cost is extremely high. Yes, your daughter can get her prescription filled at our clinic. However, our clinician will need to review your daughter’s record, and write a prescription she/he is comfortable with.

Yes

8. What if my income indicates that I need to pay for services, but I have no money to do so?
Your services and supplies will always be provided, even when you cannot pay the fee. We do allow clients to make payments so that the entire bill does not have to be paid at one time. We do however send accounts to collections when the client is making no attempt to pay their bill – but the client may continue to receive services even when their account has been sent to collections.
