Guys do care...
Guys care about their health and the health of their partners. Preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases is a responsibility that you share with your partner.
• Use condoms every time you have sex.
• Respect your partner’s right to say NO.
• Support your partner’s choice of birth control. Know what method is chosen, and why. Help pay for the exam and for the birth control; it shouldn’t all be up to your partner.
• Have children only when you and your partner are ready.
• For your health and the well being of your family perform a monthly self testicle exam to find any early signs of testicular cancer. If you notice a lump, swelling or abnormality contact your physician immediately for further examination and testing.
The Family Planning clinics can help by providing information about various methods of birth control, and about how to reduce the risk of transmitting a sexually transmitted disease.
Our clinics offer “ouchless” urine testing and treatment for STD. We also offer HIV testing and referral. Some of the signs of an STD for men are:
• frequent urination
• burning and/or pain with urination
• discharge from the penis
• sores, bumps, or blisters on or near the penis, the testicles, or the mouth
