STD and HIV Testing

STD Testing is as easy as Peeing in the Cup! Watch the video to learn more.

Family Health Services offers fast, painless and confidential testing for sexually transmitted diseases and HIV.

  • Urine test – A urine test can identify most gonorrhea and chlamydia with results in 5-7 days.
  • Visual examination – In some cases, our medical staff may need to visually inspect the penis or testicles
  • Finger poke – For HIV testing, a fast blood test using a tiny amount of blood from the finger will provide initial results. If the result is reactive, a referral would be made where a more sophisticated blood test would be used to verify results.

Some of the signs of an STD for men are:

  • frequent urination
  • burning and/or pain with urination
  • discharge from the penis
  • sores, bumps, or blisters on or near the penis, the testicles, or the mouth

There are many infections that may be transmitted by sexual intercourse. Family Health Services are able to test and treat many of these diseases. Some of the STD’s that our clinics test for and treat are:

  • Chlamydia
  • gonorrhea
  • genital herpes
  • genital warts
  • trichomoniasis
  • pubic lice

The condom offers protection against transmitting these diseases.
